“Remember how much fun we had? I don’t know why we can’t just have fun like that again.” – Daisy Buchanan in “The Great Gatsby”
If the fictional Daisy were alive today, she’d no doubt be delighted to learn that the kind of fun she had at neighbor Jay Gatsby’s extravagant parties will be available next month, January 13 and 14 at The Historic Alfred I. duPont Building in downtown Miami.
Celebrating the dazzling world of wealth and decadence as portrayed in “The Great Gatsby,” Great Gatsby Parties aim to recreate the ebullient and glamorous world of the Jazz Age of 100 years ago. These lavish, sumptuous affairs echo those seen in the Oscar-winning film of the same name, and described in delicious detail in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.
For two back-to-back nights the Great Gatsby Party in Miami will feature craft cocktails; fancy bites like caviar and petit fours; entertainment from aerialists, acrobats, dancers, and musical performances; speakeasy suites; and more.
“You can’t repeat the past? Why of course you can.”
Jay Gatsby in “The Great Gatsby”
To ensure the proper ambiance, a strict mandatory dress code is observed for both men and women. Men are invited to attend in black tie, while women are requested to arrive in authentic flapper fashion. (Check out the 2013 Leonardo DiCaprio film for pointers.)
Guests of The Great Gatsby Party Miami are invited to carouse the night away in the boozy speakeasy atmosphere inspired by Prohibition. The beverage selection includes cocktails, premium spirits, or Freixenet Cava. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
As the revelry ramps up, the evening’s festivities will include a feast of eclectic entertainment, including aerialists performing overhead and stilt walkers maneuvering through the crowd, along with musicians, dancers, Guinness World Record holders, and more.
“I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties, there isn’t any privacy.”
Jordan Baker in “The Great Gatsby”
The exclusive VIP Speakeasy experience features even more premium libations and entertainment, including authentic casino-grade tables and dealers (though no real money will change hands).
VIP and Jay Gatsby Elevated Lounge ticket holders will be admitted at 10 p.m., while doors open at 11 p.m. for all ticket holders. The party will continue in full swing until 4 a.m.
If you want to get in on the most glamorous January bash in Miami, you need to grab your tickets now! That’s because many of the tables at The Historic Alfred I. duPont Building are already sold out.
