SOME SPACES HAVE HISTORY.
THE ALFRED I. DUPONT BUILDING IS HISTORY

It was 1939. The Great Depression still had its grip on the country. And yet, on the corner of Flagler Street and Second Avenue in downtown Miami, something extraordinary was rising out of the ashes of the empty Halcyon Hall Hotel.

Seventeen stories. Wisconsin limestone. Alabama black granite. 124 ceiling panels painted by hand, telling the entire history of Florida from 36 feet above the Tennessee marble floors.

Alfred I. duPont designed this building because he believed Miami would be something. He was right. Since then, the duPont building has survived World War II, two foreclosures, and decades of reinvention.

Today, we’re known for offering something rare in Miami: a space that holds history without limiting creativity. From Vogue-featured weddings to high-profile corporate events and record-breaking non-profit fundraisers, the building continues to evolve with every client who steps inside.

North ballroom

The North Ballroom is a space that invites movement, conversation, and a celebration with real personality. Order a martini from a bartender tucked behind a 1930s hand-wrought bank teller window. Sip it in the cozy confines of the original bank vault. And raise a glass as live music drifts from the stage above the vault doors.

Who We Work with

THE DUPONT DIFFERENCE

Eight decades of history shaped this building.
These values have shaped everything else.

QUALITY

For 86 years, we’ve protected every detail worth preserving. Each surface is actively cared for to meet modern standards without compromising the history that makes it significant in the first place. Because we’ve always believed originality is worth the extra effort.

HONESTY

Most venues tell you what you want to hear. We tell you what you need to know. Street closures, vendor logistics, parking limitations. Everything is discussed before it matters because hidden fees and last-minute surprises have no place in your planning process.

ORIGINALITY

In 1939, they didn’t cut corners. Harold Hilton painted our cypress ceiling by hand. Abraham Goodman, the Chrysler Building’s own metalsmith, cast our brass elevator doors. Every detail of our space was crafted with intention. We’ve simply refused to let that standard slip.

“The Alfred I. duPont Building has a strong reputation for being exceptionally well run and well maintained,
which makes it a space we feel confident
recommending to our clients.”
